vinyl

My husband has been slowly building up a great collection of records and I have loved looking through them and checking out the pictures, cover art, and hearing music on the record player. I love that slight crackle it makes as it turns song after song. However, thanks to my husband I learned that a lot of current music can be bought on vinyl as well. So I am on a quest to find new and old records because we need to keep this amazing tradition alive. Maybe I need to invest in a new record player as well just to ensure that I can always play my records. Funny how things always come back around. Trends and styles that we thought were for sure on there way out never to be seen again somehow always make it back around. I am all for progress and technology but there is something very comforting to get lost in stacks of records. <><

summer summer everywhere but the pool is still too cold

I am so ready for summer and to spend my weekends splashing around in the pool. I never thought I would want a pool of my own because of all the work it takes to keep it up and going but trust me when I say that summer in my fair state is coming up again and my eyes are set on water. So I think this means I would like a pool of my own. I do not need something in ground because the above are just as nice and they are not level with the ground making it that much more difficult for puppies to take a dive in. J and I have started to look at outdoor patio furniture and it seems like it could get very expensive but I am trying to think ahead and buy good well made things so that they can last as long as possible. I do not know about you but I am so ready to be in a position where I can wait and save the money and buy what I want and know is well made the first time instead of cheap knock-offs to take their place. Well today is going to be a busy day so I must go but I hope everyone has a great week. <><

Well it is getting to be that time of the year in AR. Humid and hot. Though it does mean bigger and more curly hair which is a yay!
I got my desk 'spring cleaned' so now I feel a little more organized. Not that it makes me want to work any more ha. Today seems like it would have been a good day to stay in bed and watch reruns.

Women Can run 5K.

Had my second 5K and it was amazing. Next one is May 29th. Not much really to say on this topic because frankly I am worn out from bloging and uploading pictures this morning. So there it is. 47 minutes was a great time for me in this race and I am so proud of myself. <><

ZZ Top

Friday night we went to see ZZ Top. It was great. The band before was good...very southern rock. The crowd was a little more crazy than I thought it would be but it made for awesome people watching. From the burnt out hippies to the bikers there was no lack of entertainment. We tried to keep our spot in the grass as big as we could making sure to keep our blankets nice and stretched out but the people around us had their own plans as well and we ended up standing during the entire time. It was great and if you go to our photo blog sight I posted a picture on the right hand side. They played a lot of great songs and a few of our favorites. The weather was making us somewhat nervous at first because rain seemed to be on the horizon but the sun finally set and the air was cool and the view of the band and river was amazing. Be on the look out at the end of the month for Steve Miller Band updates and pictures. I guess you can tell we are trying to see more concerts and enjoy life. Love J&L

vacation was all i wanted and more

Well where to begin. Flights all went very smooth even if people always wanted to sit right by us in a plane that was far from full ha! It was much cooler in Denver than I expected but it was nice to enjoy a little bit more of that crisp cool air while we could since it was hot and humid at home. We saw the state capital which was beautiful. I have some pictures to post of all these things so do not worry you will see it all too! We also went too the Comedy Works, saw Date Night (movie), went to Red Rocks, Lookout Mountain, Blackhawk Casino, downtown Denver, and Ft. Collins to the New Belgium brewery. Such an amazing trip and my friends were great hosts. It was nice to get away and relax and enjoy some time feeling like normal people. Rare in our house ha!

Any big plans this weekend? We are seeing ZZ Top Friday night and I have a 5k on Saturday morning. Wish me luck...well wish me to not be last lol. Other than that I want to get ready for next week since I will be working the entire week ugh. Vacation was too nice because I sure was not ready for work today!
